Thorne Calloway is the eldest daughter of Elysium’s most prolific nymph hunter and if she doesn’t leave soon, that’s all he will ever allow her to be. In a world where those endowed by magic are governed by those without, her father is powerful enough. When it comes to Thorne and her younger sister, he domineers everything.

Together, the Calloway sisters plan to escape their father’s abuse until the events of one fateful night nearly drowns Thorne in the stormy sea. When she’s rescued by a water nymph named Bastian, relief is short-lived. Not only has Thorne abandoned her sister, but her savior’s brought her to the enemy territory of Arcadia.

Thorne and Bastian couldn’t be more at odds with each other. She’s skilled in combat. He can barely hold a sword. Thorne has a phobia of the sea. Bastian transforms into a fearsome water horse with jagged teeth. And worse than that? He’s a cocky, spoiled prince with a complete inability to take anything seriously, ever.

Deals are struck. If Thorne lays low, Bastian promises to take her home as soon as an upcoming royal wedding is over. If he teaches her to swim, she’ll train him to fight. While they come to understand each other in ways once thought impossible, neither will admit they’re falling for each other. But Thorne harbors secrets beyond her feelings for Bastian. What she’s hiding has the power to destroy everything.

The truth will unravel in time, and if Thorne and Bastian aren’t careful, so will the threads of destiny that have brought them together.
